It was a huge honor to direct this one day city wide event and thank you to all who joined in the celebration of making music – on the longest day of the year.
WUTC radio, the NPR affiliate for Chattanooga makes a special effort to support local arts. Scenic Roots is a program aired Monday – Friday at 3 PM with host Ray Bassett, who interviewed Mark Anderson, director of Make Music Day Chattanooga.
We also thank Richard Winham for his programs supporting writing and music, which air in the 2nd half of Scenic Roots.

Make Music Day is a global celebration of music and of making music, held on the summer solstice, June 21. The festive day began in France about 30 years ago and has spread around the world. Chattanooga’s chapter began in 2016 under the direction of Taryn Balwinski and Brian Auten, which they have turned over to Mark Anderson for 2022.
